Traveling Toddler Go Bag!
Why would a toddler have a go bag? If you have a go bag everyone in the house should have one. As a mother who likes to be as organized as possible but still likes to leave something to the spontaneous imagination, being ready to leave on a whim comes in handy. As much as I like to make sure that I’m prepared for whatever life decides to throw at me sometimes that doesn’t leave room for surprises. So therefore, preparation meets spontaneity with a Go Bag, “you don’t have to get ready if you stay ready!”... If you know you know.
This year I decided to dedicate myself to spending as much time as possible traveling with my three kids. I have one teenager, a soon to be teenager and a toddler. I want my kids to be able to look back on their childhood and say that they got to see the world. I want to expose them to other cultures, languages, food, climates and all the other experiences that come with travel. Through exposure, this should diminish any fears they would have of traveling whether abroad or domestically as an adult. I myself have never traveled out of the country alone and have only traveled internationally twice, needless to say I do have some hesitations. Honestly, traveling in general makes me nervous as I have only traveled alone as an adult once to my neighboring state to visit a boyfriend, at the time I was in a long distance relationship and that was over ten years ago.
2024 is the year of mileage, in the sky and on the road, to be bold, face my fears, and seek happiness in the most unexpected and yet expected places. I hope that you come along this journey with me to discover what happiness could look like, is it inside of a Go Bag one destination after another or in a velvet theater seat overlooking the stage? Is it dirt underneath my nails while seeding for this season? Will I find it in a crowd of adoring fans vibing to the rhythms of the saxophone and bass flowing together effortlessly? The goal is to find happiness through connection, with people, with my children, with nature, music, art in its many forms, travel and all the experiences it provides. I'm excited for this expedition, and anxious for the destination.
Not only am I going to document this journey here on my blog but also on my insta as well so check me out there as well to see the journey first hand as it unfolds, I also will be documenting it in my Travel Journal, snag you a copy to commemorate your next trip!
